About

Dr. Sandra Jeter is a dynamic individual whose diverse roles are interconnected in their aim to enhance the well-being and success of people. As an assistant professor at Howard University's School of Social Work, Dr. Jeter's research takes an intersectional approach, exploring the link between mental health and academic success among Black students, focusing on gender differences. This academic inquiry is complemented by her work as a therapist, where she employs Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support individuals and couples, further extending her commitment to mental health and personal growth.

Her role as a chandler, creating intentional candles, is yet another facet of her mission to foster positive mindsets and environments, aligning with her therapeutic and academic pursuits.

 

Dr. Jeter received her  Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Houston.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Jeter enjoys activities that reflect her creative and explorative spirit, such as crafting, dining at new restaurants, dancing, singing, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Each aspect of Dr. Jeter's life and work seamlessly contributes to her overarching goal of improving lives and fostering holistic well-being.
